“Times of transition are strenuous, but I love them. They are an opportunity to purge, rethink priorities, and be intentional about new habits. We can make our new normal any way we want.”
Kristin Armstrong

Twenty-five months ago, when I began interim ministry with Second Church, we knew that we would be saying, “Farewell” before we knew it. That time is upon us. I have received an offer to serve as Interim Pastor with Brighton-Allston Congregational Church, UCC. I will complete my ministry with Second Church on June 10.

The timing of this isn’t perfect. It never is. However, the “stars aligned” for me as the Brighton-Allston church’s outreach ministry felt like a really good fit for the direction I feel God calling me in service. The Second Church Pastoral Search Committee is interviewing candidates and, assuming there are no snafus, feel they are on track to present their choice for the settled Senior Minister to the congregation this spring. Stay tuned for details.

We have some compelling ministry to do between now and June 10. Your co-moderators and I are beginning to plan a celebration of our shared ministry. Please stand by as details unfold. Until then, know I am most grateful for all we have done for God, for God’s people, and for Christ’s Church. It has been a privilege and honor to be your pastor. I’m grateful that we have two more months to celebrate this relationship and set our sights on the new life that lies ahead – to the glory of God.
